Caroline Murphy, 82, of New Castle passed away late Friday evening, February 14, 2025, in UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Mrs. Murphy was born February 23, 1942, in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh, PA, a daughter of the late William and Loretta (Adams) Galvin. After moving to New Castle, PA, as a young girl, Caroline graduated from New Castle High School in 1960.

A homemaker, she was an exceptional cook and enjoyed tending to her flower garden.

Her husband of 38 years, Joseph Murphy, whom she married at St. Mary's Church in 1961, preceded her in death on April 29, 1999.

Caroline is survived by two sons, David Murphy and Patrick Murphy (Amy), all of New Castle; a sister, Bernadette Daltorio (Jerry), of Jupiter, FL; a sister-in-law, Judy Galvin, of New Castle; and three grandchildren, Lindsey Murphy, and Kayla and Billy McConahy.

In addition to her husband and parents, Caroline was preceded in death by a brother, Richard "Dick" Galvin.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.

Caroline will be buried next to her husband at St. Mary's Cemetery, Union Twp.
