Carol M. (Redmond) Baumgartner, 74, of Youngstown, OH, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 11, 2026, in the Oasis Center for Rehabilitation and Healing.
Carol was born on June 3, 1951, in Greenville, a daughter of the late Donald E. Redmond and Gladys (Reinhart) Redmond D’Amore. She attended Farrell and Mercer High Schools and graduated in 1969. Later, she attended the Mercer County Career Center, where she completed her studies in business management.
For many years, she managed restaurants. More recently, Carol worked for the Youngstown City Schools as a paraprofessional and bus driver, retiring in 2006.
She enjoyed camping, playing Bingo, but above all, loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by three children, Alisha (Stu) Fisher, of Canfield, OH, Donald (Erin) Kent, of Macedonia, OH, and Erica Kent, of Youngstown; numerous grandchildren; and multiple great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four siblings, Dennis (Liana) Redmond, Leo (Marsha) D’Amore, Kathy (Andrew) Novotney, and Terry.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by three sons, James A.R. Kent, Joseph C. Craig, and Patrick A Kent; four siblings, Michael, Donnie and Gary Redmond, and Timmy Martin.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
