Obituary

Carol Ann Armstrong of Meadville, Pa. passed away of natural causes at 11:07 a.m. Sunday, December 27, 2020, in UPMC Hamot Hospital, Erie, Pa., following an extended illness.  She was 66.

Carol was born June 2, 1954 in Grove City, Pa., a daughter of the late Wallis V. and Martha (Doverspike) Gadsby.  She was a graduate of Sharon High School and earned her associate degree in Home Health Services.

Carol was a certified nurse assistant at many area nursing homes, including O'Brien's Memorial and Orange Village, both in Masury, Ohio.  She also worked simultaneously at the auto auction in Mercer for ten years.

Carol was a member of the Golden Circle of the St. Libra Native American Indian in Wyoming.

Surviving are: her husband of 45 years, Stanley F. Armstrong, whom she married July 5, 1975; two sisters, Sheila Hazen (James), of Ft. Lee, Va., and Tammy Hillman (Thomas), of Alabama; a brother, Jeff Gadsby (Betty), of Toledo, Ohio; 4 nieces, Tommie, Jennifer, Jamie and Samantha; several great nieces and nephews; and aunts and uncles.

Besides her parents, Carol was preceded in death by a foster daughter, Betty McGuire; and a nephew, Aaron Gadsby.
