Obituary

Carmine G. Trenga, Sr. of Masury passed away at 6:55 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2018, in the Sharon Regional Medical Center. He was 87.

Mr. Trenga was born April 20, 1931, in Pulaski, PA, a son of the late Gaetano and Rose (Leonetti) Trenga. He was raised by his Grandma Trenga and Aunt Rose Muscarella. A lifelong area resident, he attended Pulaski schools and the New Castle School of Trades. Carmine served as a Corporal with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was the recipient of many medals, including the Korean Service Medal with two bronze stars. Following his honorable discharge on August 27, 1954, he was employed by Sharon Steel Corp. as a truck driver for 37 years.

Carmine was a member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon, and the Farrell American Legion.

Surviving are: his wife of 60 years, the former Anna Marie Vultagio, whom he married September 21, 1957; two sons, Carmine G. Trenga and his wife Susan; and James V. Trenga and his wife Tina; a daughter, Roseann Sereday and her husband Richard, all of Brookfield; and five grandchildren whom he adored, Richard Sereday, Ryan Sereday and his wife Lauren; Carlie and Katie Trenga; and Julia Trenga, all of Brookfield.

Besides his parents, Carmine was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Appel; and a brother, Gaetano Trenga. Carmine was very proud of his children who are all accomplished business owners.

He loved spending time with his family, especially Sunday Italian dinners, and took great pleasure in family cookouts during the summer, attending his grandchildren's many activities, going to numerous Yankee Lake and Burton antique shows, watching car races and hunting in his younger years. He also loved spending time with his collie "Ginger" and looked forward to daily visits from his neighbors, George, Janice and Nicole Economides.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Joseph Church, 79 Case Ave., Sharon, PA 16146 .

Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2018 , in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon .

Mass of Christian burial will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018, in St. Joseph Church, Sharon, with Rev. Thomas Whitman, pastor, as celebrant.

Interment: Brookfield Township Cemetery, with military honors rendered b y the West Middlesex VFW, Wheatland American Legion and Farrell VFW Honor Guard.
