Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday for Carl 'Stoney' Patrizi Jr. Farrell, Pa., who passed away peacefully Tuesday (2-1-11) evening in Meadowbrook Manor, Fowler, Ohio after a brief illness. He was 85.
Carl was born on April 14, 1925 in Farrell the son of Carl Sr. and Clementine Patrizi.
A lifelong area resident, he was raised on his parents farm in Pulaski and later attended Farrell schools.
He was employed at GATX, Masury for 37 years as a press operator and retired in 1984. He also worked helping his father as a meat cutter in his former store on Emerson Ave., in Farrell. Carl was also known for his side business with Pat DeCarmen as a snow cone vender throughout the area.
He was an active member of Our Lady of Fatima- St. Ann's Church his entire life. As an active member of the Italian Home, Carl enjoyed helping to maintain the Bocce courts and was a big help for their Saturday morning Italian Breakfast. Some of his other memberships include the Slovak Home, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5286, American Legion post 160, and the New Deal Club, all in Farrell, the Sons of Italy, Sharon, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hickory Post 6166. Carl enjoyed a good round of golf and was proud of his two hole in one's on the infamous #18 at the Hickory VFW. He enjoyed playing bocce with his friends and especially his son in law Larry. He enjoyed bowling and was the past chairman of the Mercer County Bowling Assn. In his early years he was a standout softball and baseball player in both Pennsylvania and Ohio. He married the former Dolores Frado on April 19, 1952 in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Farrell, she passed away on February 20, 1991.
He leaves his two daughters, Cindy DeCarmen and her husband Larry, Farrell, and Paula Pacifico, Sharpsville, two sons, Carl Patrizi III and his fiancé Judy Gibson, Gregory Patrizi, all of Sharpsville, two sisters, Marie Churko, and Felma Dyll, both Hermitage; six grandchildren, Tara, Lindsay, and Joshua DeCarmen, Mattia, and Gina Pacifico, Dustin Patrizi, and Kendyll Patrizi; one great granddaughter, Emma Patrizi.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by an infant son, his parents, his brother, Albert Patrizi, and his son in law Patrick Pacifico.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Services: Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday (2-5-11) at 1:30 p.m. in Our Lady of Fatima- St. Ann's Church 601 Roemer Blvd., Farrell, with Rev. John S. Lynch, retired pastor of St. Bartholomew Church, Sharpsville, as the celebrant.
Interment: St. Anthony's Cemetery, Hermitage.
