Carl Robert Havrilla, Sharon, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at his home. He was 75.
Mr. Havrilla was born Feb. 15, 1936 in Farrell, a son of the late Carl and Elsie Dengel Havrilla.
He attended the former St. Ann Parochial Grade School, Farrell; graduated with honors in 1954 from Farrell High School; and attended Youngstown State University where he studied electrical engineering.
Carl retired from the Utilities Department of Sharon Steel's former Farrell plant where he was employed for more than 30 years. He was a member of the former St. Ann Church, Farrell. Carl served with the Army and was a member of the Shenango Valley VFW, Post 1338; the American Legion, Post 299; and the Sons of Italy, Shenango Valley Lodge 875, all Sharon.
He enjoyed vacationing in Florida. Earlier in his life, he was a member of the former F. H. Buhl Club, Sharon, where he played racquetball and handball.
Surviving are: a daughter, Debra Fitzsimons and her husband Shawn and their two children, Lindsay and Lauren, Aliso Viejo, CA; a son, Dan Havrilla, State College, PA; and Carl's former wife, Patricia (Goral) Shemancik, Hermitage.
Besides his parents, Carl was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Havrilla.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann Church, 601 Roemer Blvd., Farrell, PA 16121.
