Candise L. 'Candie' Luce Domain, Morefield Road, Hermitage, passed away peacefully at 1:25 p.m. Tuesday (7-10-12) in Hospitality Care Center, Hermitage, following an extended illness. She was 59.
She was born May 21, 1953, in Sharon, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Luce.
A lifelong area resident, she graduated from Sharon High School.
Candie was an excellent chef and gifted baker, working locally for Hickory Grille, Greenville Country Club and most recently in food service at Westminster College. She enjoyed her jobs, taught various classes in Hermitage and Volant to those with the same interests and was awarded chef of the year for Business Journal magazine, among other accolades.
She is survived by her parents; her three brothers, Jeff Luce and his wife Linda; Dan Luce and his wife Georgiana; and Brian Luce and his wife Nancy; and two sisters, Sandra Flack and Cindy Black and her husband Ed, all of the area. Candie leaves a special niece, Jenn Luce; and special nephews, Matt Luce and Ryan Luce, and several other nephews, all very dear to her. She also leaves a special friend, Jean Bennett; and her special aunt, Julie Vogan.
Candie was a generous and giving person who will be remembered for her caring and compassionate demeanor; she will be truly missed by all who loved her.
Her family would like to thank the kind staffs of Hospitality Care Center and Select Specialty Hospital for the wonderful care given to Candie in her final days.
