Calvin Corbin Wynn Jr.

Calvin Corbin Wynn, Jr., 73, of New Castle, passed away Wednesday evening, May 27, 2026, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

Calvin was born April 14, 1953, in New Castle, a son of the late Calvin Wynn, Sr. and Shirley Mae (Atkinson) Wynn-Taylor. A lifelong area resident, he was a 1972 graduate of New Castle High School.

He retired from Columbia Gas as a service technician after over 20 years of employment.

His wife of 53 years, the former Sandra Aldan, whom he married on March 17,1973, resides at home.

As a member of the pistol club, Calvin had a passion for being outdoors, fishing, shooting guns, and tending to his vegetable garden. He was a skilled photographer, enjoyed taking care of his cars, and in his younger years, participated in bowling leagues around the city.

In addition to his wife, Calvin is survived by a daughter, Melissa Wynn, New Castle; a son, Calvin Corbin Wynn, Washington D.C., III; four grandchildren, Peter A. Thompkins, II, Shakara A. Thompkins, Kordell C. Wynn, and Shaleah A. Wynn; and his beloved Boston Terrier, Winston.

In addition to his parents, Calvin was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Wynn.

In keeping with Calvin's wishes, there will be no calling hours or a service.
