Bridget D. Dillon, Wheatland, Pa., passed away peacefully with her family at her side at 11:50 p.m. Sunday (7-31-11) in the Intensive Care Unit of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 77.
She was born on November 10, 1933 in Farrell, Pa., the daughter of Angelo and Ann DeMartinis Donatelli.
A lifelong area resident, she graduated from Farrell High School in 1951 and later attended beauty school.
She worked for more than twenty years at the former General American Transportation Corporation (GATX) in Masury, Ohio. She also was employed at the former Howell Industries, Inc.
In the 1980's Bridget opened her own pizzeria, "Bridget D's" on East State Street in Sharon.
While raising her family, she was a familiar face at what was then Kennedy Christian High School where she worked in the school cafeteria and as a bus driver for the Kennedy students.
Mrs. Dillon belonged to Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann's Church, Farrell.
She loved sports and was the #1 fan of any team that her sons played for. She could be heard cheering for her sons teams with her exuberant and high spirited cow bell that she rang from the stands at every game. She also rooted for her beloved Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins.
As an avid bowler she belonged to many leagues over the years and she also enjoyed playing bingo.
Her husband Anthony 'Crabbie' Dillon whom she married on September, 27, 1957, passed away on their anniversary September 27, 1957.
She leaves her five sons, Douglas A. Dillon and his wife Roberta, Anthony M. Dillon and his wife Susan, all of Hermitage, Geno J. Dillon and his wife Trina, Oakdale, Pa., Christopher A. Dillon and his wife Lisa, Hermitage, Bryan K. Dillon and his wife Shannon, Sharon. She leaves her six grandchildren whom she adored, Alura, T.J., Jake, Chad, Chayse, and Nathan Dillon. She also leaves one great grandson, Anthony Dillon III. She is survived by her brother Carmen Donatelli, Florida, two sisters in law, Elizabeth 'Betty' Mae Donatelli, and Rosaria Donatelli, both Hermitage.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Frank B., and Joseph G. Donatelli, and her sister Roseanne Dudash.
Her family asks that in lieu of flowers to please take the time to do something for someone in need, visit a shut in, or simply volunteer some of your time to a worthy organization as she tried to do all of her life.
Calling hours: 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday (8-4-11) and form 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Friday (8-5-11) in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon. The Rosary will be recited at 8:45 p.m. on Thursday evening.

Services: Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday (8-5-11) at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann's Church with Rev. Donald E. Berdis, pastor of the church as celebrant. A brief prayer service will take place in the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. Friday morning prior to leaving for the church.
Interment: St. Anthony's Cemetery, Hermitage.
