Brian F. Leunis, 57, of Hermitage passed away surrounded by his wife, children, and brother Monday evening, February 12, 2024, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA, following a brief illness.

Brian was born November 13, 1966, in Sharon, a son of the late Frederick L. and Betty Ann (Forney) Leunis.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served with the Charlie Battery 2-8 Field Artillery Unit. Brian was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1996, following 12 years of service.

He was employed by Autosoft, Inc., West Middlesex, working as a customer support technician.

An avid Pittsburgh Steelers football fan, he also enjoyed hanging out with his children, especially while fishing, hunting, or working on cars. A "Backyard Pit Master," he loved cooking meat over the spit or in the smoker, particularly brisket and ribs. Brian always looked forward to annual family vacations with his best friend, Eric, and his family.

His wife of nearly 23 years, Candi (Buterbaugh) Leunis, whom he married August 25, 2001, survives at their home in Hermitage.

Brian is also survived by two daughters, Michelle Leunis, Germany, and Nikki Logan (Phillip), Edinboro, PA; two sons, Bryan Leunis, Mercer, and Justin Leunis, Hermitage; a brother, Fred Leunis (Kara), Hermitage; two grandchildren, Marshall and Harrison Logan, and several nieces and nephews.
