Obituary

Bonnie L. Babcock, 71, of Hubbard, OH, passed away Saturday evening, November 17, 2018, in UPMC Passavant Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Mrs. Babcock was born September 26, 1947, in Ephrata, PA, a daughter of the late Aurther G. and Irene (Sauders) McElyea. She attended Garden Spot High School in New Holland, PA.

Bonnie was a devoted single mother and homemaker. She was also employed as a waitress for nearly ten years at Denny's, Hermitage where she met her husband, Gary.

Bonnie was a member of First Assembly of God, Hermitage and attended its women's small group bible study. Family, friends and church were most important in her life. She was a proud "Nana" to ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Bonnie was a fan of the Cleveland Indians, enjoyed reading and was an avid bingo player.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Babcock, whom she married on June 6, 1987; twin daughters, Stacey Gibbs and her spouse Molly McKinley, of Raleigh, NC; and Tammy Roupe and her husband Ralph, of Girard, OH; a son, John Gibbs and his wife Blanca, of Raleigh, NC; ten grandchildren, Jeremy and Michael Nelson; Joseph Michael Gibbs; Kerri Roupe; Emily Tucker; Christian Roupe; Connor, Cate and William McKinley; and Joshua Pellot; five great grandchildren; a sister, Robin Farr, of North East, MD; and two brothers, William McElyea and his wife Bonnie, of Rocky Mount, VA; and Raymond McElyea and his wife Katheryn, of Rising Sun, MD.

In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by a brother, John Robert McElyea.

Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday (11/20/2018) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday (11/21/2018) in the funeral home, with Rev. Sheri Urey, officiating.

Interment: America's Cemetery, Hermitage.
