Obituary

Blanche E. Hogg, formerly of Brookfield and Vienna, Ohio passed away peacefully at 12:40 a.m. Friday (4-3-09) in Nugent Convalescent Home, Hermitage, where she was a resident for the past three months. She was 90.
Mrs. Hogg was born March 1, 1919 in East Palestine, Ohio a daughter of the late Chester and Maude Pierce Elliott.
She was a 1939 graduate of Bessemer (PA) High School and moved to the area following her marriage.
Mrs. Hogg was employed at the former Noble's Shoe Store in downtown Sharon, and later in the Hickory Plaza, for more than thirty years.
She was a member of the Brookfield United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hogg served as a poll worker on Election Day in Brookfield for many years and enjoyed gardening and the outdoors.
Her husband, J. William 'Bill' Hogg, whom she married October 18, 1940, passed away November 5, 1988.
A devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she is survived by: a daughter, Betty Chess and her husband Frank, Hermitage; a son, Jesse W. Hogg, Jr. and his wife Rose Ann, Hermitage; six grandchildren, Amy Krysiek, Frank Chess, Ed Chess, Laura Casey, Billy Hogg and Jesse Hogg III; eight great grandchildren, Lauran, William, Elizabeth, Benjamin, Matthew, Emily, Megan and Lisa; a sister, Lieutenant Col. Rosemary Richardson, New Castle; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Blanche was preceded in death by a brother, Chester Elliott; and four sisters, Byrl Henry, Fyrn Heasley, Helen McCormick and Ada Pifer.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and friends at Nugent Convalescent Home and Dr. David D'Amore for their exceptional care and support.
At the request of Mrs. Hogg there are no calling hours.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Interment: Brookfield Twp. Cemetery.
