Beverly Ione French, 78, of York, PA, formerly a longtime resident of Sandy Lake, passed away the evening of Saturday, June 29, 2024, in Sharon Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. French was born August 16, 1945, a daughter of the late Elmer Ludwig and Helen Ruth (Jochins) Schmidt.

A homemaker, Beverly enjoyed cooking and working on crossword puzzles. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by two sons, David J. Kanya, Sarver, PA, and Brian M. Kanya (Tammy), Mentor, OH; two stepsons, Shane French (Deb), Sparrow Bush, NY, and Patrick Murnane, Lancaster, PA; two stepdaughters, Darlene French, Shelby, NC, and Rhonda Murnane, Millerville, PA; four grandchildren, Amanda Jameson, Akron, OH, Nathan and Aryn Kanya, Mercer, PA, and Jenna Kanya, Sarver, PA; a great-granddaughter, Madison Jameson, Akron, OH; and two sisters, Linda Huddleston and Ruthann Schmidt, both of Davenport, IA.

In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Richard French; a brother, Richard Schmidt; and a sister, Carol Latham.
