Obituary

Beverly Ann Forsythe, 87, of Hermitage, passed away Saturday morning, April 26, 2025, in Hermitage Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Mrs. Forsythe was born on May 17, 1937, in Sharon, the only child of Don Baker and Alberta (Evans) Baker Snodgrass. She was a 1955 graduate of Sharon High School. She was employed as a secretary at Sharon Steel's former Farrell plant while taking secretarial classes at Youngstown State University.

At Sharon Steel, she met the love of her life and husband of nearly 51 years, James E. Forsythe, whom she married on January 11, 1958, in Trinity Lutheran Church, Girard. He passed away on August 26, 2008. After starting a family, she dedicated her time to being a homemaker. Beverly and James spent many days and nights on the Shenango Reservoir and Clarion River boating and skiing with their children. Later in her life, she was delighted to keep track of and hear what her kids, grandkids and great-grandchildren were doing.

Once her children were in high school, she began working in retail at the former Tennis and Golf Connection, Niles, OH and the former Jeriel Fashions, Sharon.

An avid tennis and racquetball player, she was a member of the Buhl Club. She also enjoyed golfing with her husband and were longtime members of the former Greenville and Oaktree Country Clubs.

Beverly raised her family in a loving Christian household as members of Trinity Lutheran Church, Girard, OH, and later she attended Christ Lutheran Church, Sharon. In later years, when she became less ambulatory, her son-in-law, Kirk, with Soldiers of Salvation Outreach (S.O.S) would do a Sunday service and communion with her at home. Beverly began every morning reading her devotional and favorite scripture verses. She and Jim's love for God, one another and family has shown through.

Her "Dunkin Donuts Crew" were near and dear to her heart and she kept in touch with them even after she was no longer able to attend their "Get Togethers."

She is survived by a daughter, Kim Jordan and her husband, Kirk, of Hadley; a son, James L. Forsythe and his wife, Linda, of West Middlesex; two grandchildren, James "Jimmy" W. Forsythe and his fiancé, Leanna Gosser, and Jessica Argenziano and her husband, Mark; and three great-grandchildren, Mason, Maddox and Marshall Argenziano. She also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Beverly Meuser, of Girard; her beloved cousins who were liked brother and sister to her, Butch Wiseman and his wife, Gail, of South Carolina; her dear friends, Andrea and Marie; and many others who will greatly miss her.

In addition to her parents and husband, Beverly was preceded in death by her precious little dog, Fritz, who is accompanying her on her journey; as well as her other beloved cousin, Paul Bodamer and his wife, Barbara; a sister-in-law, Ruth Forsythe; and her aunt and uncle, Kate and Henry Evans.

A special thanks goes to Dr. Al Joseph, whom she highly respected and doctored with for over 40 years. Also to the nurses, aides and staff at Hermitage Nursing and Rehabilitation, who showed her love, caring, compassionate and skilled care for the last five months.

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the West Middlesex Midget Football League, at PO Box 488, West Middlesex, PA 16159; or an animal rescue organization of the donor's choice.
