Beverly J. Bailey, 82, of Sharon, passed away with her children by her side on Monday evening, January 19, 2026, in UPMC Jameson Hospital, New Castle.
Mrs. Bailey was born on August 29, 1943, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Joseph and Jilda (Manilla) Rusbashan. She attended the former Sacred Heart Parochial Grade School and was a 1961 graduate of Sharon High School.
Upon her graduation, she began working as a secretary using her exceptional typing skills at the Sharon High School until her children were born. Later, she returned to the Sharon Schools, working in the Educational Service Center, Business Office, retiring with 35 years of service. Beverly eventually returned to work in the Accounts Payable department of Mercer County Community Federal Credit Union, finally retiring after 16 years on January 31, 2022.
Beverly was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Sharon.
A talented artist, she enjoyed painting and working on ceramics. Beverly also enjoyed shopping. She looked forward to the weekly ladies' shopping trip with her family and going to get her hair done. Beverly filled her evenings watching the Food Network and her favorite show, “Everyone Loves Raymond.”
Her husband of 62 years, Edward Bailey, Sr., whom she married on September 14, 1963, recently preceded her in death on November 20, 2025.
She is survived by two children, Edward P. Bailey, Jr. and Elaine Patton, both of Sharon; her cats, Maggie and May; a brother-in-law, Daniel Bailey (Pat), of Brookfield, OH; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and three sisters-in-law.
In addition to her parents and husband, Beverly was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, William and Alan Bailey.
The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to an animal charity of the donor’s choice.
A joint service for Beverly and Edward will be held. Calling hour will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday (02/07/2026) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.McGonigleFuneralHomeandCrematory.com
A celebration of their lives will immediately follow at 11 a.m., Saturday, in the funeral home.
Interment: St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hermitage.
