Betty Lou Stewart, 92, of Greenville, passed away surrounded by her family early Sunday morning, November 3, 2024, in her residence.
Mrs. Stewart was born September 1, 1932, in New Castle, a daughter of the late Clifford and Margaret (Brown) Gilmore and was a graduate of Penn High School, Greenville.
Betty was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Greenville.
In 1954, she married her husband, Paul Stewart, who preceded her in death on March 7, 2013. Together, they loved to travel and take bus trips to any location they found to be interesting.
Betty loved her family more than anything and enjoyed being able to cook and bake to bring them together. She also enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting, and creating ceramics.
She is survived by a son, Mark Stewart (Diane), Wappingers Falls, NY; two daughters, Lori Stewart, Greenville, and Terri Stewart, Cuyahoga Falls, OH; five grandchildren, Nichole, Nicholas, Stephanie, Monica, and Brian; and seven great grandchildren, McKenna, Carson, Grayson, Liam, Cooper, Matthew, and Isla.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Clifford "Bud" Gilmore; and a sister, Donna Green.
In keeping with Betty's wishes there will be no services.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Helping Hands Hospice and St. Paul's Without Walls for the exceptional care they provided to Betty and her family.
