Betty J. Osborne Preston, West Middlesex, passed away peacefully at 2 p.m. Friday (2-13-15) in O'Brien Memorial Health Care Center, Masury. She was 74. Betty was born Sept. 22, 1940, in Sharon, one of six children born to William and Mabel Wathan Osborne. A lifelong area resident, she graduated from Hickory High School in 1958. She retired in 1986 from Guttman Oil Co., West Middlesex, where she worked in the sales department for more than 10 years. She attended West Middlesex Presbyterian Church. Her husband, Richard L. Preston, whom she married Oct. 17, 1959, passed away Dec. 8, 1992. She is survived by one daughter, Deborah A. Sabo and her husband Curtis H. Sabo; one son, Richard A. Preston and his wife Susan, Shenango Township; one brother, William Osborne and his wife Shirley, Hermitage; two sisters, Frances R. Steines, Hermitage; and Virginia Osborne, New Castle, two grandchildren, Eric R. Sabo and Richard C. Preston; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Gregory P. Sopher in 2007; a brother, Robert Osborne; and a sister, Margaret DeJulia. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1501 Reedsdale St., Suite 105, Pittsburgh, PA 15233.
