Betty A. Bour, 87, of Hermitage, passed away following a brief illness on Friday, October 4, 2024, in the skilled rehab facility of Shenango on the Green, New Wilmington, PA.
Mrs. Bour was born on August 7, 1937, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Svirbly) Mader. A lifelong area resident, she was a 1955 graduate of Sharon High School.
Betty worked as a tax preparer and bookkeeper at the former Earl Lewis Accounting. Later, she was employed by Liberty Mutual and Big Lots, while still preparing taxes for many clients.
Betty was a devoted member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, where she regularly participated in adoration and assisted with preparing funeral luncheons. She ensured her family attended church and gathered for a Sunday meal.
She was also a member of a ladies card club, which played 500 Bid.
When her children were younger, Betty welcomed all of their friends and was considered the "Neighborhood Mom." In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and crocheting.
Her husband, Earl L. Bour, whom she married on August 3, 1957, passed away on February 7, 2008.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara A. Chicca and her husband John, San Diego, CA; three sons, John "Jack" R. Bour and his wife Kathleen, Bluffton, SC, Martin E. Bour and his significant other Tina Cascio, Hermitage, and Andrew W. Bour and his significant other Lora Johnson, Hermitage; and four grandchildren, James, Lauren and Angela Bour and Katherine Chicca. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Mary Mader, West Chester, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Martin Mader.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday (10/12/2024) in the Church of Notre Dame, 2325 Highland Rd., Hermitage, with Rev. James Power, as celebrant.
