Beth Ann Burns of Arlington, VA, formerly of Sharon, passed away May 23, 2018, in Virginia Hospital Center, Arlington, VA, after a courageous three year battle with ovarian cancer.
She was 55.
Beth Ann was born April 17, 1963, in Sharon, a daughter of Thomas "Tom" and Kathleene "Kitty" (Batanian) Burns.
She was a 1981 alumna of Sharon High School and graduated from Robert Morris College in 1985.
Beth Ann was the Executive Assistant to the President Emeritus of the Conservation Fund in Arlington, VA where she was employed for 27 years.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Sharon.
Surviving are: her mother, Kitty Burns, of Sharon; two brothers, Timothy (Wendy Loranzo) Burns, of Middletown, PA; and Kevin (Karen) Burns, of Beaver, PA; two sisters, Allison Burns, of Arlington, VA; and Jennifer Burns, of Charlotte, NC; two nephews, Collin (Alyson) Burns, of North Ridgeville, OH; and Tyler (Kristy) Burns, of Houston, TX; a great nephew, Luke Burns; and a step great nephew, Carson Cox.
Beth Ann was preceded in death by her father, Tom Burns; maternal grandparents, Leon and Helen Batanian; paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Florence Burns; and a step niece, Elizabeth Loranzo.
Beth will be remembered by many as an individual who, through her own actions, taught others how to be a good person.
She was very giving, respectful to everyone and a hard worker.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, 3800 Maple Ave., Suite 435, Dallas, TX 75219; or to the Elizabeth Loranzo iCare Foundation, PO Box 309, Middletown, PA 17057; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
There are no calling hours.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018, 11:00 a.m., in the First United Methodist Church, Sharon, with Rev. Doug Dyson officating.
Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage, PA.
