Beth (Chomor) Bottenfield, 65, of Sharon, passed away peacefully with her husband and daughter by her side on March 25, 2026, at the Cleveland Clinic, from her courageous battle with cancer.
Beth was born August 5, 1960, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Albert and Norma (McCurdy) Chomor. She was a 1978 graduate of Sharon High School. She worked in the high school office, where she learned how to write shorthand, as well as received an award for her business management skills that helped pave the way for the start of her career.
After high school, she worked as an office manager for Bud Miller’s Kitchen and Bath Center in Hermitage for more than 20 years. She also worked for Simco Management, Hermitage, as a cleaning lady. She had her own side cleaning business, where she met so many people who turned into friends. She did this up until the time she got sick.
In her younger years, Beth loved to play Bingo and get a good scratch-off lottery ticket. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter, whom she called Tinkerbell.
She is survived by her husband Randal Bottenfield whom she married on May 31, 1980; a daughter, Heather Jean Runyan (Nic), of Hermitage; two grandchildren, Ashley May Wood (Ryan), of Sharon; and Stephen Randal Runyan, of Hermitage; a great granddaughter, Dahlia “Dolly” May Wood-Hardcourt; two sisters, Sandra (Fred) Shaffer, of Farrell, and Nancy (Bill) Liston, of Beaver Falls; a brother, Alan Chomor, of Salisbury, Mass; two Golden Retrievers, Lilly and Scruffy; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Beth was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Chomor, father-in-law, Earl Bottenfield Jr.; her mother-in-law, Doris Bottenfield; a nephew, Jason Bottenfield; a niece, Corie Bottenfield; and many close cousins.
The family would like to send heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Dr. Jack Khori and his team at Cleveland Clinic for their expertise, planning, and utmost care for Beth’s courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma for almost seven years. The family would also like to thank the staff at the M Building Floor 7; Myeloma/Lymphoma Department, as well as all the staff in the ICU department at the Cleveland Clinic, for their love, compassion, care, and plan up until her final days.
The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the International Myeloma Foundation, at www.myeloma.org
