Funeral services will be Sunday (4-25-2010) for Berniece E. Thomas of Clepper Manor and formerly of Riverview Manor, both Sharon, who passed away Friday (4-23-10) at 8:51 in Clepper Manor following an extended illness. She was 86.

She was born on March 31, 1924 in Hickory Township, the daughter of William L. and Catherine Thomas Brooks.

She graduated from Hickory High School in 1942.

A homemaker, she worked in her younger years at W. T. Grants in the Shenango Valley Mall.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sharon and was a member of the former United Methodist Church, Farrell.

While raising her family, she was active with the PTA and served as a Den Mother for several years. She supported the West Hill Ministries in Sharon and loved helping the kids that participated in their programs.

At one time she was a member of the Order of the Amaranth.

Berniece was endeared to organizations such as AWARE and Al Anon, which she was a member of for more than 20 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Cathi A. Thomas Vuckovic and her husband Frank, Las Vegas NV; her son Brian E. Thomas and his wife Janet, Sharon, four grandchildren, Candace Turpack and her husband Patrick, Shane Beesley, Jocelyn Vuckovic, Chris Vuckovic and his wife Kristen; three great grandchildren, Rhyloh Turpack, and Sloane, and Wade Vuckovic.

She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew J. Thomas Jr., two sons, Andrew 'Ron' Thomas, and David Thomas, and her four brothers, Harry, Chester, Edwin, and William Brooks.
