Bernard Davis, 90, of New Castle, passed away Saturday afternoon, June 14, 2025.

Mr. Davis was born April 15, 1935, in New Castle, a son of the late Vivian (Moore) Williams. He was a graduate of Union High School.

For many years, Bernie worked at the National Radiator Company, which later became the Crane Company. He also worked for Penn Power.

A Free and Accepted Mason, Bernie was a former member of The Scottish Rite Valley of New Castle Lodge No. 243.

A sports fanatic, Bernie loved watching sports and rooting for any Cleveland sports team. He also enjoyed camping with his wife, Bertha (Fuqua Peters) Davis, whom he married in 1959.

In addition to his wife, Bernie is survived by three daughters, Carlyn Johnson (Ernest), of New Castle, Brenda Davis, of Hermitage, Bertha Davis, Jr., of New Castle; four sons, Anthony Davis (Kim), of New Castle, Gerald Davis (Kimberly), of Hermitage, Glen Davis, Bruce Davis, both of New Castle; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepfather, Grant Williams; and a brother, Billy Davis.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday (6-18-25) and noon until the time of the service Thursday (6-19-25) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday (6-19-25) in the funeral home, with Minister Vincent Wise, Whole Truth Ministries, New Castle, officiating.

Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, New Castle
