Bernadette (Hughes) Rock, 57, of Sharon, and formerly of Pulaski Township, passed away unexpectedly the morning of Monday, Dec. 26, 2016.

She was born on May 15, 1959, in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Thomas H. and Betty J. Flick Hughes.

Bernadette was raised in Pulaski and attended New Wilmington High School.

She was employed by various health care providers throughout the area as both a nursing aide and home health aide.

Bernadette was a member of Barnstone Ministries, New Bedford.
She will be remembered as a kind and loving person, never hesitating to help someone in need.

She is survived by a daughter, Anna J. Boyer of New Castle; three sisters, Kathleen Hughes of Hillsville, and Linda McConahy and Deborah Heasley and her husband, William, all of Pulaski; and a grandson, Aden R. Boyer. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, Bernadette was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas H. Hughes Jr.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.

Funeral service will be 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Albert Librizzi, pastor of Barnstone Ministries, New Bedford, officiating.
