Obituary

Bernadette 'Bunnie' M. Foster of New Port Richey, Florida, formerly of Sharon, passed Thursday February 9, 2012 in her residence. She was 72.

She was born on January 20, 1940 in Masury, OH, the daughter of John and Anna Geralsky Pitonyak.

She attended Villa Maria High school and often looked back on it with fond memories. She studied at Duquesne University before graduating from Youngstown State University.

Bunnie began her career as a social worker and later worked for various aspects of Mercer county government.

Her true passion was her family and her church. She was an active participant in PTA and other organizations while raising her family. Later in life, Christmas and Easter meals at her home were always a treasured event. In addition, she was a long time member of St. Stanislaus Kostka church where she served on multiple councils and committees before retiring to Florida ten years ago. In Florida, she continued her call to service, having most recently served as the President of her homeowners association.

Her husband Keith Foster, whom she married in 1963 and recently celebrated 48 years of marriage survives at home. She is also the loving mother to Brian and his wife Darla Foster of Mt. Lebanon, PA and Kevin and his wife Lisa Foster of New Port Richey, FL; proud grandmother of Colin, Preston and Braeden Foster and aunt to Gina and Gabe Fulgenzio. She is survived by her brother Jack Pitonyak of Mercer, PA, her sister Gloria and her husband Tony Fulgenzio of Erie, PA. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Bernadette was preceded in death by an older sister and brother-in-law, Pat and her husband Tony Schiavone.

Calling hours will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 11, 2012 in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon, PA 16146.

A memorial mass will be held on Monday, March 12, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church with Rev. Jeffrey Lucas. Family and friends are requested to go directly to the church.

Inurnment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
