Obituary

"That which the Lord has created, He must taketh away." A graveside service will be held Saturday for Barbara Ann Messina, born June 15, 1942, to Andrew and Barbara Ference Weber. She passed into eternal life Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012. She went peacefully at her home in Hermitage. She was 70.

Her beloved husband of 51 years, Deacon Joseph P. Messina, remains at their residence. Her children, Peter J. Messina, Columbus, Ga.; and Marlana Messina Brewster with her husband Robert Brewster, Stuarts Draft, Va.; grandchildren, Zachary, Ryan, Chelsea and Jessica, all Virginia; great-grandchildren, Delaney Reece, Landon and Jaden; brothers and sisters, Aggie Jiminez and her husband Pedro, Houston; Andrea Horvath and her husband John, Hermitage; Frank Weber and his wife Sandra, Conneaut Lake; Patricia Heilman, Mineral Ridge, Ohio; Barbara's brother- and sister-in-law, the Rev. Art Reagle and Marlene Reagle, Hermitage; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many cousins, continue to honor her in their love.

Barbara graduated from Farrell High School, "the greater class of 1960" ("The Class of '60 turns 70"). Her career as a secretary served her well at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp.; Porter Cable in Cleveland; Martin's Supermarkets in South Bend, Ind.; and, in conjunction with being a dedicated parent, vice president and president of PTA (Parent Teacher Association).

Barb was a Cursillo since 1974 and was active in the Catholic Church, receiving her certificate of education in South Bend, Ind., teaching at the elementary level. She was a Eucharistic minister and director of EMs in South Bend. Much of her dedication was given to her children, grandchildren and, most recently, her greatgrandchild, Delaney Reece.

In addition to her mother and father passing, her brother, Richard, also joins her in everlasting life. Each now drink from the well of living water.

In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial donations be made in her name to any of the following charities, St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; Sharon Regional Hospice and Palliative Care, 2320 Highland Road, Hermitage, PA 16148; Animal Rescue League, 6620 Hamilton Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15206; Our Lady of Fatima- St. Ann Church, 601 Roemer Blvd., Farrell, PA 16121; or Sacred Heart League, 6050 Highway 161, North Walls, MS 38686.

Service: Graveside service for family and friends at 1 p.m. Saturday (8-25-12) at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Hermitage, across from the entrance to UPMC Horizon, Farrell. The Rev. Art Reagle, deceased's brother-in-law, will officiate.

Inurnment: St. Anthony's Cemetery. Arrangements by the J. BRADLEY McGONIGLE FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
