Barbara Kaiser, formerly of King Dr., Hermitage, passed away at 10:15 a.m. Sunday (5-24-09) in John XXIII Home, Hermitage. She was 88.
Mrs. Kaiser was born October 27, 1920 in Selci, Yugoslavia a daughter of the late Joseph and Rosina Francva Herschberger.
She immigrated to the United States in May of 1952 and settled in Farrell in September.
She was a member of St. Anthony's Church, Sharon.
A homemaker, Mrs. Kaiser enjoyed gardening, cooking and the times she shared with her family.
Her husband, Joseph Kaiser, whom she married on November 12, 1935 in Yugoslavia, passed away March 28, 1994.
Surviving are: four sons, Franz Kaiser and his companion Evelyn McClendon, Dillsboro, Indiana; Adolf Kaiser and his wife Patricia, Brookfield, Ohio; Hans Kaiser, Sharon; and Antoni Kaiser and his wife Stephanie, Irvine, CA; eight grandchildren, Bonnie, Tom, Kathryn, Romy, James, Joseph, Claudia and John; and eleven grandchildren, Matthew, Brook, Kaitlyn, Jessica, Jacob, Nathan, Caleb, Evan, Ben, Erin and Andrew.
Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Kaiser was preceded in death by two sons, Joseph, who died in infancy and Joseph Kaiser, Jr.; and a brother, Hans Herschberger.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to John XXIII Home, 2250 Shenango Valley Freeway, Hermitage, PA 16148.
Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday (5-29-09) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday (5-30-09) in St. Anthony's Church, Sharon, with the Rev. Glenn R. Whitman, pastor of St. Joseph Church, Sharon, as celebrant.
Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
