Barbara A. Jones, 91, formerly of 76 White Ave., Sharon, passed away at 12:05 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2022, in Hermitage Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Mrs. Jones was born May 5, 1931, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Albert and Isabel (Patterson) Biganaisse. She was a 1949 graduate of Sharon High School.

Barb was a devoted homemaker and caretaker of her handicapped daughter. She did work as a secretary at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp., the Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, MS and retired in 1996 from the former Temple Beth Israel, Sharon.

Barb was of the Catholic faith.

Due to her daughter's disability, she learned the art of sign language. She enjoyed teaching others how to sign and would assist Sharon Regional Medical Center to interpret for the hearing impaired. She bowled in a league at the former Hickory Bowl during the 1970s.

She is survived by her husband, Robert F. Jones, whom she married May 4, 1962; a daughter, Melissa Jones, Monroeville, PA; two sons, Jeffrey Jones and his wife Marci, Salem, OH, and Timothy Jones, Turtle Creek, PA; five grandchildren, Todd Jones, Kristen Jones Means, and Devin, Kelly and Lynda Jones; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
