Barbara Lavin (Echnoz) Coupland, 83, of Hermitage passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, March 23, 2024, in Clepper Manor CCRC, Sharon.
Mrs. Coupland was born September 23, 1940, in Meadville, PA, a daughter of the late Clarence and Margaret (Manders) Echnoz, and graduated from Niles (Ohio) McKinley High School in 1958.
Barbara married her high school sweetheart, Dr. John V. Coupland, on August 3, 1963, at the First Methodist Church in Niles, OH, with Rev. Glenn Tennell, presiding. Dr. Coupland preceded her in death November 7, 2016.
Barbara worked in the insurance department of Trumbull Memorial Hospital for several years prior to managing the office of her husband's physician practice, Dr. John V. Coupland Family Medicine, in Hermitage.
Barbara was a member of Hickory United Methodist Church, Hermitage, and volunteered at UPMC Horizon Shenango Valley, Farrell.
An avid reader, she enjoyed cruising and traveling, especially to fish in Canada or trips to Las Vegas, NV. Barbara was a lifelong pet owner and cherished the many dogs she had throughout her life. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family and dear friends.
Barbara is survived by two daughters, Delin Hoffman (Mike), Lady Lake, FL, and Heather Kelley (Brian), Hermitage, PA; five grandchildren, all whom she loved and was very proud, Amanda McLaurin (Ian), Wes Hoffman (Amy), Zackary Coupland (Ariel), Abby Coupland, and Amber Kelley; three great-grandchildren, Colton, Jameson, Jackson; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Coupland; twin aunts, Betty and Shirley Manders; her step-father, Mike Hallas; and three sisters, Patti Scarnecchia, Leona Echnoz, and Kathryn "Sue" Hallas-Wilkerson.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Club Pet, 20 Schaller Road, Transfer, PA 16154; or the Shenango Valley Animal Shelter, 2599 Broadway Road, Hermitage, PA 16148.

In keeping with Barbara's wishes, a celebration of life will be held immediately following at the Hermitage Hills Community Center, Hermitage, PA.
