Barbara V. Boyle

Barbara V. Boyle, 85, of San Antonio TX, formerly a longtime resident of Hermitage, passed away late Monday evening, September 21, 2026.

Mrs. Boyle was born on November 17, 1940, in New Castle, PA, a daughter of the late Fred and Frances (Nigro) Valle. After graduating from Union High School in 1959, she attended courses at Youngstown State University.

For many years, Barb worked as a sales associate at JCPenney and was also a longtime member of the Church of Notre Dame, both in Hermitage.

Barb loved vacations with family and friends, especially trips to Vero Beach in Florida. She always enjoyed visiting family all over the country and sharing life with them whenever possible, most of all while visiting her grandchildren and enjoying their active lives. An avid reader, Barb also looked forward to walking in Buhl Park and other trails around the Shenango Valley. She also loved to be in the kitchen cooking with her family, especially Heather and her grandchildren.

Her beloved husband of nearly 53 years, William J. “Bill” Boyle, whom she married on May 9, 1964, preceded her in death on February 4, 2017.

Barb is survived by her son, John Boyle (Heather), of San Antonio, TX; and four grandchildren, Benjamin Boyle, Elizabeth Prislovsky (Stephen), Jonathan Boyle, and Matthew Boyle.

In addition to her parents and husband, Barb was preceded in death by her daughter, Ann Boyle; and a sister, Virginia “Ginny” McCaslin.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to the Church of Notre Dame, 2325 Highland Ave., Hermitage, PA 16148.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2026, in the Church of Notre Dame, 2325 Highland Rd., Hermitage, with Rev. John Miller, as celebrant.
