Obituary
Barbara Ellen Ayres, 71, of 616 Saxony Drive, Dublin, GA, formerly of New Castle. Passed away on Wednesday June 2, 2010 at 8 pm at Serenity Hospice in Dublin, GA.
Barbara was born on July 5, 1938 in Johnstown, PA to the late Bernard and Barbara Naylor Lynch.
She was a 1956 graduate of New Castle High School and later she attended St. Francis School of Nursing, New Castle. After receiving her certification as a Registered Nurse, she was employed by several health care providers throughout her career including; Menomonee Falls Hospital, in Menomonee, Wisconsin: St. Francis Hospital, Hospice of St. Francis, and Dr. Nord & Dr. Bowers all in New Castle, PA.
Late in life she enjoyed working for the Steinhafel family as a furniture sales rep at their Kenosha, Wisconsin location where she made many new friends that she considered family.
She is survived by her former husband Morris Ayres, Sr. of Atlanta, GA and her two sons, Darren Ayres of Los Angeles, CA; Morris and Stephanie Ayres, and grandson Dylan Ayres of Dublin, GA.
The youngest of four children, she is preceded in death by two Brothers Francis and Thomas Lynch and her sister Lucille Bobosky.
Calling hours will be held Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle, PA.
A procession will leave the funeral home at 8:30 A.M. on Monday for St. Mary Church, Mary Mother of Hope Parish. A Mass of Christian burial will celebrated at 9 A M by the Rev. Victor J. Molka Jr.,Pastor.
Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, New Castle.
There will be a memorial Mass held at the Immaculate Conception Church, Dublin, Ga at 9:00 am, Friday June 11, 2010.
The family would like to add a special thank you to Serenity Hospice of Dublin , GA for their compassinate care of their mother.
In leieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to be made to the Immaculate Conception Church Buidling Fund, 204 North Church Street, Dublin, GA 31021 or to Serentiy Hospice, 520 Hillcrest Parkway, Dublin, GA 31021.
