B. Dorothy 'Dot' Przewodowski, 4415 Clifford Dr., Hermitage, passed away unexpectedly Sunday (3-15-09) from a fall in her residence. She was 87.
Mrs. Przewodowski was born Jan. 13, 1922 in Pittsburgh a daughter of the late Walter Edward and Mary Madeline Euler Grant.
She attended Pittsburgh Public Schools and worked for the Clark Candy Co. in Pittsburgh before moving to the area in 1947. Dot retired in 1987 from Sharon Regional Health System where she worked in the cafeteria for twenty years. A homemaker, she was a former member of St. Joseph's Church, Sharon. Dot was a member of the YMCA in Hermitage where she participated in the morning exercise program and the many social events, which she loved. She enjoyed her friends, family, dinner theatres and traveling by motor coach to the casinos.
Her husband, Henry A. Przewodowski, whom she married February 28, 1946, passed away September 19, 1986.
Surviving are: two daughters, Margaret 'Peg' Means, Endicott, NY and Melbourne, FL; and Sharon 'Sherry' Grant, Hermitage; a son, Henry 'Hank' Przewodowski; three sisters, Betty Lou Watt, Pittsburgh; Shirley Martin, McConnellsburg, PA; and Kathryn Bettis, Atlanta, Georgia; eight grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Dot was preceded in death by six brothers, James, Walter, William, Raymond, Donald and Shelton Grant; and two sisters, Florence Soose and Virginia Burkhart.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the YMCA, 925 N. Hermitage Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148.
Calling hours will be from noon to time of Mass Thursday (3-19-09) in the Gathering Room of St. Joseph Church, corner of E. State St. and Case Ave., Sharon.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 p.m. Thursday (3-19-09) in the church with the Rev. Glenn R. Whitman, pastor, as celebrant.
