Ascension 'TI' (Campos) Farmartino, 627 7th St., Oakmont, PA; formerly of Shenango Blvd., Farrell, passed away peacefully at 4:35 a.m. Saturday (11-20-10) after complications from a fall at home. She was 84.
Mrs. Farmartino was born May 13, 1926 in Farrell the youngest child of the late Jose and Maria Usle' Campos.
She was a graduate of Farrell High School and received her nursing degree from St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing, Cleveland, Ohio. TI, as she was known, was a dedicated and compassionate RN in the area for more than 40 years. She began her career at Clepper Manor in Sharon and subsequently John XXIII Home, Hermitage, before retiring in 1993 from what was then Shenango Valley Osteopathic Hospital in Farrell.
A devout catholic, TI was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann Church and was a volunteer at the Prince of Peace Center, both Farrell. She had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother and was a member of the Secular Franciscan Order. TI was most happy when she was with her family, particularly her grandchildren, and enjoyed reading and praying.
Her husband, Rocky A. Farmartino, Sr., whom she married April 15, 1950 in the former St. Anthony Church, Farrell, passed away May 10, 1974. A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, she is survived by: two daughters, Tina Antonucci and her husband Dr. Mark A. Antonucci DMD; and Jamie Piccolino and her husband Joseph, all Oakmont, PA; two sons, Rocky A. Farmartino, Jr. and his wife Jule, Hermitage; and Mark E. Farmartino and his wife Lorie, Farrell; 11 grandchildren whom she adored, Maria Antonucci, MD; Alexander Farmartino; Michael Antonucci; Joseph Farmartino; Matthew Antonucci; Christina Ascension Farmartino; Melanie Antonucci; Steven Farmartino; Rocky Farmartino; Severio Piccolino; and Vincent Piccolino; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, TI was preceded in death by a son, Louis Farmartino on Dec. 26, 2008; a brother, Emilio Campos and his wife Mary; and two sisters, Petra Fammartino and her husband Vincent James; and Matilda Campos who died in infancy.
The family requests Memorial Masses be said for Ascension at Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann Church, Farrell; or to a catholic church of the donor's choice.
Calling hours will be from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday (11-23-10) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.

Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday (11-24-10) at 9:30 a.m., in Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann Church, Farrell, with the Rev. Donald E. Berdis, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment: St. Anthony's Cemetery, Hermitage.
