Arthur M. Finnin, Jr., 66, of Laurel Blvd., New Castle, PA, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2010 in Jameson Hospital after an extended illness.
Mr. Finnin was born November 3, 1943 in East Brady, PA a son of the late Arthur M. Finnin, Sr. and Lucinda McEvoy Finnin. He was a 1961 graduate of New Castle High School. Art retired in 1999 after more than ten years as an over the road long distance truck driver. He was previously employed as a police officer for the city of New Castle for twelve years. He was a member of St. Mary Church, Mary, Mother of Hope Parish. Art was an outdoorsman and enjoyed archery hunting, fishing, camping and vegetable gardening.
Surviving are: his devoted wife, the former Audrey A. Thork, whom he married February 20, 1971; a brother, James Finnin, Pittsburgh; four sisters, Carrie Hogue, Huntington Beach, CA; Edith Finnin and Patricia Charney, both Richmond, VA; and Sarah Perfillio, Sharon; a sister-in-law, Shirley Finnin, Beaver, PA; a brother-in-law, Dan Nocera, New Castle; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Art was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane Nocera and a brother, John Finnin.
Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2010 in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.
Blessing service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Victor J. Molka, Jr., officiating.
