Obituary

Arlene L. Snyder of 536 North Keel Ridge Rd, Hermitage, passed away at 1:45 pm, Saturday, November 7, 2009 in the hospital of the Sharon Regional Health System surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness. She was 84.

Mrs. Snyder was born October 20, 1925 in St. Joseph, MO, a daughter of the late James and Alpha Louise Tiller Kelly.

She was educated in Missouri and moved to the area following her marriage.

A homemaker, she was of the Methodist faith. Arlene was the family matriarch and an avid gardener. She was an active member of the Hickory VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and enjoyed travel and bingo.

Her husband, Paul L. Snyder, whom she married, December 31, 1943, passed away on February 5, 2002.

Surviving are: her children, Debra Hoffmann and her husband Wayne, Hermitage; Denise Boca and her husband Frank, Clark, PA; Paula Resele and her husband Paul, North East, MD; Ronald Snyder and his wife Robin, Jefferson Twp.; Vickie Verroco and her husband Peter, Hermitage; Joyce Ringer and her husband Mark, Mercer; Janice Sauer and her husband Joseph, Hallsville, TX; and William 'Bill' Snyder and his wife Brenda, Mercer; a daughter-in-law, Carol Snyder of Hermitage; a son-in-law, Patrick Maurice of Sharpsville; 23 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, Arlene was preceded in death by a son, James H. Snyder and a daughter, Sharon 'Sherry' Snyder Maurice; and four brothers, James, Dale, Jewel, and Kenneth Kelly.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Hickory VFW Ladies Auxiliary, 5550 East State St. Hermitage, PA 16148.

Calling Hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, November 9, 2009 in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon, PA 16146.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2009 in the funeral home with Rev. Stephen Stelle, pastor of Faith Presbyterian Church, Hermitage, officiating.

Interment: Hillcrest Memorial Park.
