Anthony "Tony" Thomas Yereb, 98, a former longtime resident of Sharon, passed away
Saturday
evening, July 7, 2018, in St. John XXIII Home, Hermitage, where he was a resident since November of 2010.
Tony was born August 21, 1919, in Farrell, a son of the late Thomas and Anna (Soplanda) Yereb.
He was a 1937 graduate of Sharon High School and attended the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University.
Tony served with the U.S Army in the European Theater during WW II and was employed for 42 years at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corporation.
He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima- St. Ann Church, Farrell.
Tony spent most of his life in the music industry.
He played trombone in the Sharon High band and orchestra and played the piano in a number of small bands.
He also taught piano for a number of years and was an organist for a few of the local churches.
Tony played the organ for many funeral Masses in Church of the Sacred Heart, Church of the Good Shepherd and St. Ann Church.
Surviving are: three nephews, Albert Yereb, Thomas Burprich and his wife Lorene and Dennis Burprich; three nieces, Clara Conti, Carol Hermann and Sandra Olejnik; two Godchildren, Krysta Cione and Debbie Bills; and many cousins.
Besides his parents, Tony was preceded in death by four sisters, Anna Yereb who died in infancy, Theresa Bohl, Ann Teleky and Mary Burprich; five brothers, Evan, Steven, Frank, Victor and Alex Yereb; and two nieces, Margaret Bacome and Evelyn Brooks.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either Buhl Park,

or to a charity of the donor's choice.
