Anthony P. Doddato, of 129 Emerson Avenue, Farrell, passed away peacefully following a brief illness on Thursday May 27, 2021.He was 98.
Mr. Doddato was born September 5th, 1922, in Farrell, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Michael and Sophia (Vessa) Doddato, who were originally from Ottati, Italy.
Anthony graduated from Farrell High School in 1941, and honorably served his country during World War II from 1942 to 1945.
He was employed for 40 years at Sharon Steel's former Farrell plant, retiring in 1983.
Anthony was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell. He was also a member of the Italian Club, Slovak Club and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #5286, all in Farrell.
In his younger years he enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by two sons, James Doddato and his wife Patricia, Vienna, OH, and Paul Doddato and his wife Tina, Myrtle Beach, SC; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren, whom he loved to spend time with.
In addition to his parents, Anthony was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary Ann Kashmer, whom he married May 1, 1954; an infant son, David; five sisters, Anna Doddato, Rose Penola, Angeline Yacullo, Helen Kocis, Virginia Cemeric; two brothers, Arthrur and August Doddato; and three nephews, August, Arthur and Carmine Doddato.
The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Our Lady of Fatima Church, 601 Roemer Blvd, Farrell, PA 16121.
