Anthony J. Buckley Jr., 67, of Union Twp. passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Mr. Buckley was born July 3, 1950, in New Castle, to Anthony J. Buckley Sr. and Anna Pearson Buckley. He was a 1969 graduate of Union High School and later earned his B.S. in Business Administration in 2003 from Westminster College.

Anthony married the love of his life, the former Mary Ann Petrello, on July 21, 1973, in St. Mary's Church. She survives him at home.

He retired in 2011 from Union Area School District, where he worked as the maintenance supervisor for many years.

Anthony was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Church, Mary Mother of Hope Parish.

Anthony enjoyed woodworking, landscape painting and caring for his yard. His greatest joy came from time shared with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Besides his wife Mary Ann, he is survived by: his mother Anna M. Buckley, of New Castle; two daughters, Gabrielle Dean, of Pittsburgh, and Kathleen (James) Pozzuoli, of New Castle; three sons, Patrick and Eugene Buckley, both of New Castle, and Christopher (Nicole Petrucci) Buckley, of Palmdale, Ca.: two sisters, Mary Ann Swerdlow, of Murrsyville, PA, and Jean Gallagher, of Edinburg; three brothers, Robert Buckley and Daniel Buckley, both of New Castle, and William Buckley, of Erie; and four grandchildren, Angel Rose Barker; Hazel and Castiel Pozzuoli; and Raven Dean.

Anthony was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Eileen Snyder; and an infant son, Sean Buckley.

Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday (5-6-18) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday (5-7-18) in St. Mary Church, 124 N. Beaver St., New Castle, with Rev. James Downs, as celebrant.

Interment will be in Madonna Cemetery, New Castle.
