Anthony C. Archie Sr.

Anthony C. “Tony” Archie, Sr., 66, of Sharon, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 22, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Mr. Archie was born on September 2, 1959, in San Bernardino, CA, a son of the late Curtis and Claudia (Williams) Archie. He was a 1977 graduate of Farrell High School, where he met his lifelong companion, Sandra Kitt, who survives at home. Following high school, he honorably served in the U.S. Navy.

Uncle Tone, as he was affectionately referred to, worked at Penn-Dot, the former Imperial Cleaners, Red Lobster and various other jobs in the Shenango Valley. In the military, he acquired the skill of cutting hair and worked as a private barber throughout his life.

Tony grew up in the Second Missionary Baptist Church, Farrell.

A local legend, he will be remembered for his baseball and pool skills and his loving nature. He was arguably the biggest Pittsburgh Steeler and Penn State fan.

He is survived by six children, Anthony C. Archie, Jr., Anthony Snowell, Antoine Archie, Sondra Archie, Terrica Culp, and Turquoise Taylor; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins and nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a sister, Alvina Culp, Denise (Edward) Grubbs; a brother, Michael (Marva) Archie; and a special brother, Mark Baker.

In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by a daughter, Shanice Hobson; a sister, Diane Archie; and a brother, Curtis Archie, Jr.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday (09/01/2026) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon. Calling will also be from 11 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday (09/02/2026) in Second Missionary Baptist Church, 1138 Spearman Ave., Farrell. 

Military Honors will be rendered by the Wheatland and West Middlesex Honor Guard at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, in the church.

A homegoing celebration will immediately follow at noon on Wednesday, in the church, with Rev. Russell Penn, Jr., officiating.

Interment: Morefield Cemetery, Hermitage.
