Anne M. Audino, 91, a long-time resident of New Castle, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 9, 2019, in Richardson, Texas, with family by her side.

Mrs. Audino was born December 9, 1927, in New Castle, to Maria and Domenick Scarazzo.  Due to the early death of her beautiful mother Maria, she was later adopted and lovingly raised by her aunt and uncle, Adele and Alfonso Scarazzo.  After graduating from New Castle High School, Anne attended Seton Hill University and Duquesne University, receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in music. She then married the love of her life, Joseph L. Audino, and celebrated fifty-four years of marriage.

Anne's talent in music led to a career that spanned over sixty years.  She distinguished herself as the first female chosen to direct a marching band in Lawrence County.  She taught in several schools throughout the area, and later developed a thriving private practice.  She mentored many students toward competitions and awards, always excited to shepherd their talents toward success.  She was particularly gratified by her family's love of music.  Her son Joe demonstrated stellar ability as a drummer, as well as her grandson Joe's talent in musical theatre production and involvement with New Castle High School's Marching Band.  She also performed piano concertos with her daughter, Lisa.

A devout Catholic, Anne was a member of St. Camillus De Lellis Parish, Neshannock Twp., where she sang in the choir, along with her husband, Joseph, for several years.

She volunteered with the American Cancer Society, spearheading many fund raising projects with the Youth Against Cancer Organization.  She also enjoyed being a Girl Scout Leader.

Anne possessed a genuine caring for all those she encountered personally and professionally, and her charismatic personality attracted friendships of all ages.  She devoted herself to her Bible study group, and guided those around her with faith and encouragement.  She was tireless in helping students, family and friends develop and express their abilities, and was rewarded by many friendships that lasted throughout her lifetime.  Later, she relocated to Texas, and along with her daughter Lisa, opened up yet another chapter of her life, filled with new adventures and even more wonderful relationships.  Her legacy as a professor of music is only eclipsed by the love of the people who surrounded her and was perhaps her greatest achievement, certainly the one most treasured.

She is survived by four children, Mark R.(Joan) Audino of Rochester, New York, Mary (Gene) McGinnis of San Francisco, California, Lisa M. Audino, of Richardson, Texas, and Joseph M. (Joy) Audino of New Castle, along with her brother, Reno J. Marcotuli, who also resides in New Castle. She was blessed with six grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Anne was preceded in death by her sister, Esther Atria; and her two brothers, Norman and Joseph Scarazzo.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday (4-16-19) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday (4-17-19) in St. Camillus De Lellis Church, 314 W Englewood Ave, New Castle, with Rev. Victor J. Molka, Jr., as celebrant.
