Obituary

Anna Sarvas, formerly of Plum Street, Sharon; and New Port Richey, Fla., passed away peacefully at 7:30 p.m. Friday (1-27-12) in St. Paul's, West Salem Township. She was 93.

Mrs. Sarvas was born April 15, 1918, in Transfer, a daughter of Joseph and Mary Magdalena Tencinger Bogner.

She was a lifelong area resident and attended the former Transfer school.

Anna was a homemaker who loved to bake and sew and was a member of the former Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Farrell, now St. Stanislaus Kostka-Holy Trinity Church, Sharon, where she served as a Eucharistic minister.

Years earlier, she bowled in the Wednesday senior league and the AARP league, both at the Hickory Bowl in Hermitage.

Her husband, Frank J. Sarvas, whom she married April 7, 1935, passed away Jan. 19, 2000.

Surviving are: a son, Francis James Sarvas and his wife Cathy, Sharon; a daughter-in-law, Linda Sarvas Carbo; five grandchildren, Jacque Grasso, Jill Sarvas, Karla Murphy, Cheryl Morris and Hope Hood; and 11 great-grandchildren, Janelle Grasso, June Grasso, Jiovanni Grasso, Jeno Grasso, Karly Murphy, Kendall Murphy, Mack Morris, Tanner Morris, Jordan Penn, Jereme Penn and Hayley Hood.

Besides her parents and husband, Anna was preceded in death by a son, Charles David Sarvas; a grandson, Charles David Sarvas, Jr.; three sisters, Theresa Edell, Eva Sees and Mary Myers; and five brothers, Phillip, George, Frank, Joseph and John Bogner.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Paul's, 339 East Jamestown Rd., Greenville, PA 16125.

Entombment: St. Rose Cemetery Mausoleum, Hermitage.
