Mezei
August 9, 1924 – January 3, 2025
Anna E. Mezei, of Brookfield, OH, formerly a lifelong resident of Hermitage, passed away peacefully with family at her side Friday morning, January 3, 2025, in her home.
Mrs. Mezei was born August 9, 1924, in Brackenridge, PA, a daughter of the late Anthony and Catherine (Agresti) Trotta.
After graduating from Farrell High School in 1942, Anna worked as a core tester at the former Sharon Transformer Div. of Westinghouse Electric Corp.
On May 11, 1946, she married Andrew "Red" Mezei, and the couple enjoyed nearly 62 years together. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2008.
A homemaker, Anna was also an Avon Representative for over 25 years, earning many awards and making many good friends.
A founding member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in West Middlesex, Anna belonged to the Altar Rosary Society, was active with the fundraising group "Caterers," and was active in the former "Pastry Blenders." She also volunteered annually as "Mrs. Santa" for the children taking C.C.D. classes. She was also a member of St. John XXIII Auxiliary and volunteered at the Keystone Blind Association.
Anna enjoyed baking, sewing, reading, traveling, and most importantly, spending time with her family and pets.
She is survived by two sons, Andrew Mezei, Nashville, TN, and Wayne Mezei, Brookfield, OH; three daughters, Joyce Blanke (Alan), Masury, OH, Dale Alfredo (Ronald), Hubbard, OH, and Diana Mitchell (Daniel), Hermitage; and four grandchildren, Ryan and Scott Alfredo, and Dylan and Darren Mitchell.
Besides her parents and husband, Anna was preceded in death by three brothers, Nick, Sam, and Joseph Trotta; and two sisters, Theresa Grande and Frances Trotta.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be directed to Church of the Good Shepherd, 3613 Sharon Rd., West Middlesex, PA 16159; or Sanctuary Hospice of Ohio, 6715 Tippecanoe Rd Suite. B-101, Canfield, OH 44406.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday (1-7-25) in Church of the Good Shepherd, West Middlesex.
Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11 a.m. Tuesday, in the church, with Rev. Glenn Whitman, as celebrant.
Entombment: St. Rose Mausoleum, Hermitage.
