Anna Mae Hines, 88, of Hermitage, passed away Tuesday morning, December 18, 2018, in Sharon Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Hines was born June 29, 1930, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Vasil and Anna (Volcho) Gula. A lifelong area resident, she was a 1948 graduate of Sharon High School.
She was employed as an administrative assistant and clerk at Penn State University, Shenango Valley Campus, and retired as an engineering clerk from Penn Power in Clark, where she was employed for ten years.
A homemaker, Anna was a member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon.
Her husband, James E. Hines, Sr., whom she married August 25, 1950, passed away November 2, 2011.
She is survived by a daughter, JoAnne Hines, of Richmond, VA; three sons, James E. Hines, Jr. and his wife Roberta, of Long Beach, CA; David M. Hines and his wife Susan, of Masury, OH; and Paul H. Hines and his wife Linda, of Jupiter, FL; four granddaughters, Ashlee and Karlee Hines; and Michele Shifflett and Tammy Guthrie; four great-grandchildren, Corey and Samantha Guthrie; and Abigail and Andrew Shifflett; and a sister, Mary Kelly, of West Palm Beach, FL.
In addition to her parents and husband, Anna Mae was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Mansell; and a brother, Michael Gula.
The family suggests memorial contributions be directed toward St. Joseph Church, 79 Case Ave., Sharon, PA 16146; or to the National Spasmodic Dysphonia Association, at www.dysphonia.org .
Calling hours will be 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday (12/20/2018) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, in St. Rose Cemetery Chapel, 779 Dutch Lane, Hermitage, PA, with Rev. Thomas Whitman, pastor of St. Joseph Church, Sharon, officiating.
Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
