Obituary

Mass of Christian burial will be Monday for Anna M. ?Betty' Butorayac, 6231 Warren Sharon Road, Brookfield. She passed away peacefully in her residence at 2:35 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, following an extended illness. She was 94.

She was born Dec. 4, 1916, in Braddock, Pa., a daughter of Ernest and Susan Kolesar Langer.

In her early years Betty worked as a nanny in New York City and was later employed at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp.

She was a member of St. Anthony's Church, Sharon. Betty was the quintessential homemaker and gourmet cook who loved to take care of children. She also enjoyed gardening in her spare time.

Her husband, Michael J. Butorayac, whom she married March 6, 1935, passed away July 25, 2004.

She leaves her three daughters, Michaelene A. Mattson, Sharon; Linda Lee Butorayac, Rocky River, Ohio; and Debbie Faber and her husband Greg, McMurray, Pa; six grandchildren, John Suchora and his wife Christie, Michael and Anthony Lafferman, Melissa Faber McAleer, Melanie Faber and Nicole Butorayac Johnston; and four great-grandchildren, Alex, Tyler, and Makala Lafferman, and Landen Mikec. She is also survived by her sister, Irene Lippa, Pittsburgh; and three nieces and three nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Virginia Schons; her son, Michael J. Butorayac; two brothers, Joseph 'Judge' Kasko and George 'Whitey' Kasko; and two sisters, Helen Jenkins and an infant sister, Peggy.
