Anna Marie Broschart, 89, of New Castle passed away of natural causes the morning of Thursday, Dec, 3, 2015, following an extended illness.

Anna was born on Oct. 18, 1926, in Shippenville (Clarion County), one of eight children born to John and Anna Meehan Beichner. She was raised in Shippenville and attended Shippenville schools.

Anna worked with special needs children for 10 years as a teacher's aide at the Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV at Walmo School.

She was a member of Mary, Mother of Hope Parish, St. Mary's Church.

Over the years, Anna enjoyed traveling across the United States and to Europe. She especially enjoyed her family vacations at the beach in Kitty Hawk, N.C.

Her husband, Joseph Francis Broschart, whom she married on Aug. 16, 1945, passed away on Feb. 27, 2007.

She is survived by her two daughters, Patricia Gaston and her husband, Robert, of Mercer, and Joyce Falba of New Castle; three grandchildren, Robert Gaston Jr., and his wife, Sharon, of Mechanicsville, Va., Joseph F. Gaston and his wife, Alicia, of Sharon, and Ashley Falba of New Castle; and four great-grandchildren, Rachel, Sara, Leah and Luke Gaston. She is also survived by her two sisters, Helen George and her husband, Isaac, of New Castle, and Emma Jayne Raybuck of Knox, Pa.; and her brother, Dana Beichner and his wife, Louella, of Edinburg.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her four brothers, Thomas, Paul, John and George Beichner.

In keeping with Anna's wishes, calling hours and funeral services will be held privately.

Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
