Obituary

Ann Marie Moroco, Hermitage, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, Nov. 21, 2010, in John XXIII Home, Hermitage. She was 100.

Mrs. Moroco was born June 26, 1910, in Greenville, one of Gaetano and Antoinette Nardone Daniello's eight children.

Ann left school at the age of 15, after the death of her mother, to care for the family and help take care of the house and farm.

She married John Moroco on June 20, 1934; they resided in Farrell all of their married lives. Her husband died on Jan. 5, 1974.

Ann was a devoted Catholic, praying three Rosaries daily and attending 7 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell, while residing in Farrell. She was a past member of its Altar- Rosary Society and worked for more than 20 years with the cavatelli makers.

She made her home in Sharon with her son, Phillip, in 1995, joining St. Joseph's Church, Sharon, and continuing daily Mass attendance as long as she was able.

Ann was a wonderful homemaker, cook and gardener. She enjoyed playing bridge, bowling and golf. She belonged to three weekly golf leagues, including the Tam O'Shanter Ladies League, and was always a competitor.

Ann is survived by two sons, John Moroco and his wife Nancy, West Middlesex; and Mike Moroco and his wife Connie, Sharon; a son-in-law, James Gessler, Greenville, and daughter-in-law Judith, Hermitage. She is survived by 11 grandchildren, Nancy Gessler, Boston; Lynne Gessler, Sharpsville; Lori Gilmore, Greenville; John Moroco and his wife Cathy, Hermitage; Jeff Moroco and his wife Kari, Transfer; Susan Moroco and her companion Matt Taylor, Chicago; Philip Moroco II and his wife Julie, Sharon; Richard Moroco and his wife Laurie, West Middlesex; Jacqui and her husband Jack Maloney, Delray Beach, Fla.; Jamie Moroco, Pittsburgh; and Michael Moroco, Sharon. She is survived by 16 greatgrandchildren, Annie, Emily, Joe, Jack, Rachel, Philip III, Max, Isabelle, Ethan, Kendrick, Brennan and Alyssa Moroco; Jack and Kate Maloney; and Andrew and Lindsay Gilmore. Also surviving are her brother-in-law, Daniel Moroco and his wife Helen, Farrell; her sister-in-law, Rose Daniello, Baltimore; !

and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Annette Gessler; her son, Philip Moroco; her granddaughter, Jodie Moroco; her great-grandson, Jeffrey Moroco; four brothers, Michael, Jake, Frank and Anthony Daniello; and three sisters, Theresa Donato, Angeline Sunseri and Antoinette Daniello. Ann was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

The family would like to thank Dr. Randy Stigliano and the staff at John XXIII Home for all the help, kindness and compassion extended to Ann throughout the past four plus years.

Interment: St. Michael's Cemetery, Greenville.
