Ann P. Jofery, of Hermitage, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, January 13, 2019, in Sharon Regional Medical Center. She was 87.
Mrs. Jofery was born March 29, 1931, in Sharon, a daughter of the late James J. and Margaret M. (Kelch) Walsh. She was a lifelong area resident and 1948 graduate of Sharon High School.
Primarily a homemaker, Ann also worked for several years as an office manager at O'Neill Coffee, West Middlesex, retiring in 1994.
Ann was a member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon. Previously, she was a founding member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, where she served as a Eucharistic minister, Pre-CANA instructor, Ave Maria President, and volunteered as a homeroom mother at Notre Dame Parochial Grade School. Ann was very active in the Erie Diocesan Cursillo Movement, serving as the Mercer Co. coordinator. She also served as coordinator of Mercer County Tax Aide for AARP for more than 20 years.
Ann enjoyed spending time with her family, watching the news and following politics.
Her husband, Joseph R. Jofery, Sr., whom she married May 10, 1952, passed away April 5, 1994.
She is survived by three daughters, Joann M. Jofery, Wheatland, Karen M. Jofery, Hermitage, and Linda M. Jofery, Los Angeles, CA; two sons, Joseph R. (Diane) Jofery, Jr., Hermitage, and Christopher M. (Nancy) Jofery, Coral Springs, FL; a sister-in-law, Bonita K. Walsh, Temecula, CA; four granddaughters, Elizabeth, Victoria, Rebecca and Rachel Jofery; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ann was preceded in death by three brothers, James (Jean) Walsh, Thomas Walsh, and John (Nona) Walsh.
The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Prince of Peace Center, 502 Darr Ave, Farrell, PA 16121; or St. Joseph Church Food Pantry, 79 Case Ave., Sharon.
Calling hours will be 10 a.m. until the time of Mass Friday (1-18-19) in St. Joseph Church, 79 Case Ave., Sharon. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.McGonigleFuneralHomeandCrematory.com .
Mass of Christian Burial will be noon Friday, in the church, with Rev. Thomas Whitman, pastor, as celebrant.
