Anita Como

Anita Como, 87, of Hermitage, passed away Friday evening, December 12, 2025, in Clepper Manor, Sharon.

Mrs. Como was born on August 30, 1938, in Aliquippa, PA, a daughter of the late Daniel and Sara (Valencenti) Piroli. She was a 1956 graduate of Aliquippa High School.

Anita was a longtime employee at Dr. Duryea’s Dental Office in Slippery Rock. She retired as the Office Manager.

A devoted homemaker and amazing cook, Anita was of the Catholic faith.

Her husband, Louis Como, whom she married on September 24, 1960, passed away on August 16, 2022. Together, they loved to travel, making many trips abroad and visited countless state and national parks.

She is survived by a daughter, Angela Svirbely (Geoffrey), Hubbard, OH; a son, Ronald Como (Gloria), of Verona, PA; four grandchildren, Brittany and Joseph Svirbely, and Jakob and Madalyn Como.

In addition to her parents and husband, Anita was preceded in death by three sisters, Vera Piroli, Lily Mano and Rose Mariano; and a brother, James Piroli.

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Buhl Park, 715 Hazen Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday (12/17/2025) in the Church of Notre Dame, 2325 Highland Rd., Hermitage, with Rev. John Miller, pastor, as celebrant.

Interment: Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum, Aliquippa, PA.
