Angelo Bozzo, 84, of Hermitage, passed away at 11:05 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2019, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Mr. Bozzo was born July 13, 1934, in Sharon, a son of the late Giuseppe and Maria (Minion) Bozzo. He was a lifelong area resident and attended Sharon Schools.
Angelo was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell.
He was employed at Sharon Steel's former Farrell Plant for 40 years, where he began as a scarfer and retired as a relief foreman in 1992. Angelo was a member of the United Steel Workers Union, Local#193.
He was also a member of the New Deal Club and the former Russian Club, both of Farrell, and the Slovenian Home, Sharon.
An avid Cleveland Indians fan, he enjoyed bowling in the New Deal and First National Bank league at Sunset Lanes, Farrell. He devoted several years to umpiring Little League and other recreational baseball games throughout the Shenango Valley. Angelo also served as the manager of the Sharon American Legion Baseball team.
His wife of 57 years, the former Mildred M. Tatomirovich, whom he married September 17, 1955, passed away September 21, 2012.
He is survived by a daughter, Sherry Lynn Anderson and her husband David Lee, of West Middlesex; two sons, Angelo Paul Bozzo and Michael Anthony Bozzo, both at home; two grandsons, Dustin Bozzo and David Anderson; and six great-grandchildren, Lolah, Madelyn and Emry Bozzo, Natalie and Audrianna Anderson and Keegan Vella. He also leaves behind two sisters, Rose Gessler, of Greenville, and Patricia Montgomery and her husband Donald, of Panama City, FL; and two brothers, Santino Bozzo and his wife Doris, of Transfer, and Louis Bozzo and his wife Donna, of West Hills, CA.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Angelo was preceded in death by a sister Mary Kessler; and four brothers, John, Michael, Anthony, and Andrew Bozzo.
Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday (02/05/2019) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday (02/06/2019) in the funeral home, with Rev. Matthew Ruyechan, pastor of Our Lady of Fatima Church, officiating.
Interment: St. Anthony Cemetery, Hermitage.
