Angela DeSantis Trotta, 326 Pierce Ave., Sharpsville, passed away at 6 a.m. Thursday (1-5-12) in Nugent Convalescent Home, Hermitage, where she was recuperating from a recent illness. She was 90.
Mrs. Trotta was born Oct. 16, 1921 in Castro dei Volsci, Italy a daughter of the late Domenico and Palma Biondi DeSantis.
She was educated in Italy and immigrated to the United States in 1956, settling in Sharpsville.
A devout catholic, Angela was a member of St. Bartholomew Church, Sharpsville, and a former member of its St. Olivia Society.
A homemaker, she and her husband also owned and operated the former Angela's Pizza Shop on Shenango St. in Sharpsville for many years during the 1960's and 1970's. It was a well known and highly regarded pizza shop where Angela made pizza the same way she did for her family.
Her husband, Mario Trotta, whom she married August 10, 1941, passed away May 4, 2002. Surviving are: a daughter, Maria Digiacomo and her husband Anthony J. Digiacomo, II, Saegertown, PA; a granddaughter, Angela and a great grandson, both living in Florida; a sister-in-law, Marcella Trotta, Endicott, NY; several nieces and nephews; and two brothers-in-law, both living in Italy.
Besides her parents, Angela was preceded in death by a grandson, Anthony J. Digiacomo, III; and two sisters and a brother who died in Italy.
Angela was an exceptionally warm, friendly, loving and caring lady and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the elevator fund in care of St. Bartholomew Church, 311 W. Ridge Ave., Sharpsville, PA 16150.

Mass of Christian burial will be 1:30 p.m. Monday (1-9-12) in St. Bartholomew Church, Sharpsville, with the Rev. Marc Stockton, pastor, and Rev. John Lynch, retired pastor, as con-celebrants.
Interment: St. Mary Cemetery, Hermitage.
