Angela Marie May, 174 Shenango Blvd., Farrell, PA passed away at 4:48 p.m. Saturday (6-26-10) in UPMC Horizon Hospital, Farrell, after an extended illness. She was 88.
Mrs. May was born November 21, 1921 in Farrell, the youngest daughter of the late Felice 'Felix' and Maria Elia Rocco.
She was a lifelong area resident and a 1940 graduate of Farrell High School.
Angela was employed at the former Sharon Transformer Division of the Westinghouse Electric Corporation during WW II; and at the former Capital Theater, Farrell, while her husband was serving in the war. An exceptional homemaker, she was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann's Church, Farrell, and a member of its Altar & Rosary Society. Angela lived a Christian way of life and was often a prayer intercessor for family and friends. Her thoughtfulness and compassion toward others exemplified her love of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Angela loved being with her family, particularly her grandchildren, and carrying on family traditions. She was an outstanding cook and would feed and nourish all who entered her home. She will be remembered by many for her encouraging words, her kindness and always looking for the good in people.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she is survived by: her husband, Charles C. May, whom she married August 8, 1943; four daughters, Charlene Ramage and her husband John, Hermitage; Debbie Hall and her husband Bill, Sharpsville; Gina Francis and her husband Michael, Stoneboro; and Maria Courtney and her husband Norman, Greenville; three sons, Robert May and his wife Susan, West Middlesex; Rick May and his wife Debra, Hermitage; and Tim May, at home; 12 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Angela was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jaime May; a grandson, Anthony May; a sister, Josephine May; and four brothers, James 'Jack' Rocco, Frank Rocco, Pete Rocco and Angelo Rocco who died in infancy. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday (6-30-10) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon. A Rosary will be held at 8:45 p.m. in the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Thursday (7-1-10) in Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann's Church, Farrell with the Rev. Donald E. Berdis, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment: St. Anthony's Cemetery, Hermitage.
